I have been so busy lately, the past few weeks have seen my new creative life take a turn for the ‘active’. I am loving it. The ‘busyness’ of it is very different to the busy full time working lifestyle, it’s still hectic but in a really fun way. Feels right.
Recently cake crumbs & beach sand was nominated for Kidspot’s Voices 2013 Awards. Voices 2013 are the biggest blogger awards in Australia, if you’re an Australian blogger or like to read Australian blogs you would’ve heard of them. Previously they were called Kidspot Top 50 Bloggers. To be in amongst some of my favourite blogs is just amazing. I am not embarrassed to tell you I was skipping around the house when I got the email advising my humble little space had been nominated. Just thrilled. When you have a moment head on over and check out the amazing list of blogs that were nominated.
Adding to this excitement, I offered a promo on my Facebook page of half price photo shoots (you know I take photos, right?). Thanks to a shout out by the lovely Megan of Littlesweet Baking I had a fabulous response overnight. All five photo sessions have been booked and this has resulted in a very busy month of photo sessions. This week I had three booked, and I am looking at my diary for next week thinking how quiet it looks compared to this week. I am so excited about editing the images, hopefully I will be able to share a few here at a later stage.
With all this excitement going on I haven’t been able to indulge in my usual cooking sessions at home therefore recipes have been lacking here. I have however got two recipes in mind for next week. One is a Finnish delicacy, the Finns version of a cross between a hamburger and a pie. It’s doughy and filled with mince and rice, and traditionally when bought in the street they are cut open and filled with a sausage and mustard, I can’t wait to share it with you. The second is risotto following a gorgeous package filled with premium Italian products I received from Enoteca Sileno which included a bag of risotto rice. Watch this space.
Lastly Fiona, the winner of the fabulous chocolate and wine gift pack giveaway hosted here from Enoteca Sileno, has kindly posted a photo on my Facebook page. The assortment is nothing short of amazing! And I am not surprised. If you live in Melbourne I urge you to dine at Enoteca Sileno’s restaurant, sample one of everything for me, won’t you?
Here are some photos I had the privilege of taking for The Vintage Table. If you have not heard of them, I suggest you head on over and check out their beautiful vintage collection, which by the way is HUGE! Alison who owns and runs The Vintage Table has impeccable taste and an eye for genuine vintage pieces. Nothing “vintage-inspired” going on here, it’s all the real deal. I’ve been let loose in her showroom a few of times to take photos, my heart swoons every single time.
I hope you’re having a fun week too. Just because I am not here posting as much as I would like to, doesn’t mean I am not thinking of my wonderful readers. And if you nominated cake crumbs & beach sand for Voices 2013, I thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
