When I started blogging in 2011 it was done on a whim and at first I didn’t really know what I would be blogging about. After the first year, it took its shape as predominantly a food blog, and now it feels like home. The opportunities I have been a part of and the network and community I have stumbled into are so inspiring. Some days I pinch myself.
Being a part of Kidspot’s Voices of 2013 has been surreal beyond compare. To make the top 100 list out of some 700 nominations was a real surprise. But then to be presented with the opportunity of taking part in not one, but two challenges, has definitely catapulted my blogging experience into a place I never envisaged. Being involved in Voices of 2013 with a group of amazingly talented creatives is, without sounding sucky, a real honour.
I am currently editing my last post for The Good Guys Gourmet Gadget Challenge. With it comes a bittersweet feeling. I am excited to see what happens next but I don’t want it to end. I have been excited from the minute I opened the email advising I had been selected, to the arrival of each appliance, to planning each recipe, to cooking and photographing and writing and editing each blog post. I could seriously do this full time. Someone want to employ me to write and photograph recipes full time?
I have spent night after night (after night) ogling beautiful kitchens on Pinterest and dreaming. And why wouldn’t I, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. With the amount of time I spend in my kitchen, this is a big deal. And even if I don’t win, the dreaming has been part of the fun.
My final post will be up later this week, I am stretching that baby out as long as possible! If you’d like to read my first two posts click on the links below.
Meanwhile, I look forward to the final awards night next month, cross your fingers I win myself a kitchen makeover. And in the meantime, I wish the other bloggers good luck; I am up against some seriously talented competition. If you want to check out the other blogs here are the links:
